Jody Shilan, MLA
 |
President
Jody is an award winning
landscape designer and owner of
Jody Shilan Designs, LLC.
(Wyckoff).
He
holds a Bachelors degree in
Landscape Architecture (BSLA)
from Rutgers University and a
Masters degree in Landscape
Architecture (MLA) from the
University of Massachusetts. He
is an active board member of the
PLANET membership subcommittee
and the advisory board at Bergen
Community College, where he
taught for 10 years. His design
work, installations and business
articles have been featured in
more than a dozen trade
magazines, websites and
journals, and he is the editor
of FromDesign2Build.com.
Jody also chairs the Public
Relations Committee.

Bob Pedatella, CLT, ICPI

Vice President
Bob is the owner of Kodiak
Landscape & Design (Haskell).
He is a past Director and
Sergeant at Arms of the NJLCA
and serves as the Certification
Committee Co-Chair. Bob
holds an Associates degree in
Business and Landscape Design &
Management. He is
Landscape Industry Certified
Technician and ICPI certified.

Tom Canete
 |
Director
Tom is the owner and founder of
Canete Landscape, Canete Snow
Management, and Canete Garden
Center (Wayne). His company has
been chosen as one of the top 50
Snow Management companies in
America, has won several
Landscape Achievement Awards,
holds a NJ pesticide applicator
license and also sits on the
board for the ASCA (Accredited
Snow Contractors Association).
Tom brings his vast
technological knowledge to the
Board. |
David Huber
 |
Director
David is a landscape designer
with Horizon Landscape (Wyckoff)
and a graduate of S.U.N.Y
Cobleskill with a degree in
Plant Science and Landscape
Management. He has been in the
landscape design build industry
since 1990 and owned a Landscape
Design/Build firm on Long Island
for 13 years. He will be heading
up the PLANET Day of Service
committee. |
Richard Gaynor
 |
Associate Director
Richard is the president of
Middleton & Company Insurance
and is Commercial Insurance
Counselor (CIC) and Certified
Risk Manager (CRM). He is also a
past Director of the NJLCA.
Richard has extensive board
participation experience having
served on over 10 public and
industry boards, and continues
to be an active member of
various industry leadership
committees.

Rich Goldstein, CLT
 |
Director
Rich is the President of Green
Meadows Landscaping (Oakland)
and is Landscape Industry
Certified (CLT), as well as a
licensed pesticide applicator.
He founded Green Meadows in 1982
and brings extensive Board
experience to the NJLCA. |
Bob Hibler
 |
Associate Director
Bob is the Director of Marketing
for Gamka Sales Company
(Edison), a family owned and
operated distributor of
construction products. Bob
is a past Region 2 Vice
President and serves on the
Safety Committee along with his
close associate, Captain Safety.

Chris Hricik, CLT
 |
Director
Chris is Account Manager at
Kindergan Landscaping
(Bergenfield). He has
participated in NJLCA's PLANET
Day of Service, 9-11 Project in
Fairview, and was named
Contractor of the Year in 2010.
Chris Chairs the Nominating
Committee and serves on the Trade
Show, Human Resources and Legislative
Committees.

Associate Director
Shay is the Vice President of
Bollinger Insurance (Short
Hills) and has 15+ years
insuring professional landscape
businesses. |
William Rawles
 |
Director
Bill is the owner of Making the
Cut Property Maintenance (South
Plainfield). Bill has been in
business for seven years, holds
a Rutgers Landscape Management
Certificate and is ICPI
certified. Bill’s company
focuses on Commercial and
Residential Landscape
Maintenance.

Mike Reed

Associate Director
Mike Reed works with Holganix
(Glens Mills). He Chairs
the Legislative Committee. |
Dr. Bruce Clarke
 |
Board Advisor
Dr. Clarke is Director of the
Rutgers Center for Turfgrass
Science and is a published
author on Turfgrass Pathology.
He is also a frequent speaker at
educational conferences both in
the U.S. and internationally.

Dr. Steve Fischer
 |
Board Advisor
Dr. Fischer is a professor in
the Horticultural program at
Bergen Community College
(Paramus). He received his
BS from the Delaware Valley
College of Science and
Agriculture, and his MS and PhD
from the University of Maryland.
Dr. Fischer is also very
involved with the CLT committee.

Dr. Jim Murphy

Board Advisor
Dr. Murphy is the Extension
Specialist in Turfgrass
Management at Rutgers
University. He
conducts research and teaches in
the undergraduate and extension
programs on the development of
best management practices in
turfgrass.
